A disturbance passed by Montana to the north overnight, so there were some scattered showers around, primarily along the Hi-Line and the Canadian border. A few lingering showers are possible this morning along the Canadian border, but most locations will be dry during the day today. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny today, with the cloud cover diminishing as the day goes on. Highs today will be in the 60s in most locations, so it will feel very nice outside, and there will be little to no wind.
Warmer temperatures return tomorrow, with highs climbing into the 70s. In north-central Montana, it is going to be mainly sunny tomorrow and most locations will be dry, but a few isolated showers/storms are possible during the evening in Cascade County, Judith Basin County, and Fergus County. Around Helena, it is going to be mostly sunny tomorrow and there will be some scattered showers and thunderstorms around during the evening. A modest breeze is also expected across the eastern half of north-central Montana tomorrow, where sustained winds will range from 10 to 20 mph.
The next storm system will impact the state Friday and Saturday. There are going to be scattered showers and thunderstorms around on Friday, generally during the afternoon/evening and mainly in central Montana and southern portions of north-central Montana. Scattered showers/storms will continue Friday night. On Saturday, there are going to be scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms around, especially during the morning and especially in locations east of I-15. Skies will be partly cloudy on Friday and partly to mostly cloudy on Saturday.
Friday will be another mild day as highs are going to be in the 70s in a lot of locations. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected on Saturday as highs are going to be in the mid to upper 60s and low 70s. There is also only going to be a little breeze around on these two days as sustained wind speeds are going to range from 5 to 20 mph.
Beautiful weather is expected Sunday and Monday as an upper-level ridge builds overhead. On these two days, it will be mostly sunny, mostly dry, and mild as highs are going to be in the 70s and low 80s in most locations.
Next Tuesday is the First Day of Fall and we will begin fall with pleasant weather. On Tuesday, it is going to be partly to mostly sunny, mostly dry, and mild as highs will be in the 70s.
