A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect for portions of Montana until 10pm Monday. Severe thunderstorms with 60+ mph wind gusts and/or 1+" hail are possible. A stray tornado is also possible.

There are going to be scattered showers and thunderstorms around this evening and tonight, especially before midnight, as a disturbance works its way through our area. A few of these thunderstorms may also be severe with 60+ mph wind gusts, 1+” hail, and/or a stray tornado. Flash flooding due to heavy rainfall is also possible this evening and tonight.

Around and west of I-15, most of this precipitation will be done with by sunset, so most of the firework displays should not be impacted. East of I-15, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms around just after sunset, so some firework displays may be impacted. We are also going to have partly cloudy skies tonight with some patchy areas of fog around. It is also going to be cool/mild tonight as lows are going to be in the mid to upper 40s and low to mid 50s in most locations.

For tomorrow, we are going to have a chance to see some rain showers and thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon/evening and generally in locations east of I-15, as another disturbance passes through our area. Once again, some of these thunderstorms may be severe with 60+ mph wind gusts, 1+” hail, and/or a stray tornado. Flash flooding due to heavy rainfall is also possible tomorrow. We are also going to have partly cloudy skies tomorrow with some patchy areas of fog around during the morning. It is also going to be mild tomorrow as highs are going to be in the 70s and low 80s.

On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we are going to have increasing clouds with some scattered showers and thunderstorms around, generally during the PM hours, as multiple disturbances pass through our area. Frequent lightning, flash flooding due to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and/or small to medium-sized hail are possible with any thunderstorms that we see over these four days. Some of the thunderstorms that we see over these four days may also be severe with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and/or a stray tornado. It is also going to be warm on these four days as highs are going to be in the 80s and low 90s in most locations.

We are then going to have partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies on Sunday with some isolated showers and thunderstorms around, generally in locations east of I-15. Mainly sunny skies and dry conditions are then expected on Monday. It is also going to be warm on these two days as highs are going to be in the low to mid 80s in most locations. There is also going to be a little bit of a breeze around on these two days as sustained wind speeds are going to be between 5 and 20 mph.
