A 67-year old woman from Malta died in a one-car crash in Fergus County on Monday, May 12, 2025.

It happened along Highway 19 between Grass Range and Bohemian Corner just after 6 p.m.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman - the only occupant of the Chrysler - was heading south when the car veered slightly off the road near mile marker 56 and hit the end of a guardrail head-on, in line with the passenger-side headlight.

The car continued along the guardrail while rotating 90 degrees to its right. The car continued sliding broadside along the guardrail before coming to a rest.

The MHP says that the woman, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

According to the MHP, alcohol and speed are considered factors in the crash.

The name of the woman has not been released at this point.

(1st REPORT, MAY 13, 2025) The Fergus County Sheriff's Office reports that a person died in a crash on Monday, May 12, 2025.

The agency said in a news release that deputies responded to the one-vehicle crash along US Highway 19 between Grass Range and Bohemian Corner.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the driver of the vehicle was deceased.

Other responding agencies were the Montana Highway Patrol, Roy Ambulance, and Lewistown Fire.

No other details, including the identity of the driver, have been released at this point.

The Sheriff's Office said in a news release: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
