The Bureau of Land Management has extended their public comment period on the Scratchgravel Hills project to October 6th, 2020.

The plan considers development of 40 miles of new, multi-use trails that would be open to biking, equestrian use, and electric bikes with less than one horsepower. The plan also promises to improve visitor signage and expand trailhead parking lots.

The plan was initially released for public comment on June 24th, 2020. Lewis & Clark County Commissioners called for an extension on the public comment period on July 14th, 2020 after they heard from a number of residents stating that the bureau hasn’t provided enough time for people to respond to the plan.

To view details about the plan, go to the BLM project e-planning site at https://eplanning.blm.gov/ [eplanning.blm.gov] and, choosing the Montana/Dakotas and Butte Field Office options, search for “Scratchgravel.”

Comments may be emailed to bcolin@blm.gov or, via mail, to Bureau of Land Management-Butte Field Office, ATTN: Scratchgravel RAMP, 106 N. Parkmont, Butte, MT 59701.
