Given how our October has been so far, it should be no surprise the Halloween forecast doesn't look very nice.

Both cold and snow are in the forecast around trick-or-treat time.

Temperatures are likely to peak in the early to mid afternoon Thursday, and not will not be very high, likely in the mid to upper 30s.

They'll fall back into the 20s overnight as a cold front moves in.

We'll also see some gusty winds, especially east of Great Falls and Helena Halloween night, and wind chills could be as low as the single digits.

Make sure trick-or-treaters are dressed warmly, and be prepared to head in early if it gets too cold.

As for snow, light snow showers will develop in the late morning to early afternoon on Halloween, and last into Friday morning.

Little to no accumulation is expected for most, but we could pick up up to half a foot in some of the Mountains of Central Montana.

Places like Lewistown could see accumulation as much as an inch or two.
