We're tracking some windy, warmer weather, and a big cool down in the forecast.

Winds will begin to pick up tonight along the Rocky Mountain Front, with peak gusts over 60 miles per hour possible.

Winds will stay strong on Friday, with gusts over 60 miles per hour again possible on the Front, gusts up to 40 miles per hour for Central Montana, and less breezy winds in Northeast Montana.

The stronger winds will help bring in warmer temperatures.

Highs in the 40s and 50s are expected Friday.

Saturday looks even windier, and even warmer.

Peak gusts along the Rocky Mountain Front will be as high as 90 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 65 miles per hour farther east.

Temperatures will climb as high as the 60s on Saturday, which will be near record warmth in many places.

By Saturday a large portion of the area will be under either a High Wind Watch or a High Wind Warning.

The warm temperatures, strong winds, and lack of snowpack will also increase grassland fire danger.

A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect for much of North Central Montana on Saturday.

By Sunday a cold front will drop through the area, taking temperatures back into the 30s, with a chance of snow as well.
