The wind ramps up significantly as we enter into the weekend.

Sustained winds around 25 mph are likely on Friday with gusts nearing 40 mph.

The northern portions of the Rocky Mountain Front will likely experience stronger gusts this afternoon.

This increase in the wind will drive temperatures well into the mid 40s.

Extreme wind will take over this weekend in turn driving temperatures to the high 40s and low 50s.

Wind gusts on Saturday are expected to near 60 mph which has warranted the National Weather Service to issue a High Wind Watch.

This Watch includes all of north central Montana from Great Falls to Cut Bank.

The wind will continue to increase on Sunday with gusts nearing 75 mph.

The windy and mild temperatures are expected to extend into next week.

Forecast models are suggesting that temperatures will cool slightly on Wednesday as a few cold fronts move through the state.

Although the plains are expected to remain dry, the mountains will continue to pick ups some snow this next week.
