High pressure will hold on for one more day.

Thursday will start out hazy and somewhat muggy.

Skies will clear by the noon hour allowing for temperature to climb into the early 90s under mostly sunny skies.

The early impacts of our next weather system will begin to move into Montana on Friday.

An area of low pressure will track toward the state, drawing ample amounts of moisture our way.

This system will also allow for cooler air to slide into the state from our north.

Temperatures will cool to the mid 70s this weekend with daily showers and thunderstorms.

The brunt of the storms will be in late afternoon and evening.

Periods of heavy rain are expected with these passing systems.

Due to the recent fires, burn scar flooding is likely.

Early forecast models are suggesting around a half an inch of rain through Sunday.

Pockets of greater rain totals are expected.
