Wednesday is shaping up to be slightly cooler thanks to a cold front that slipped into the state Tuesday night.

Temperatures are expected to peak in the mid 80s Wednesday.

Eastern Montana will see the coolest temperatures, gradually warming as you head west.

Thursday will be another hot one before temperatures fall off the charts this weekend.

The high pressure ridge that has taken over our forecast the past few weeks is finally expected to move on its way.

An are of low pressure from the Pacific Ocean will take its place this weekend.

This incoming system will cause widespread showers and thunderstorms through the weekend.

Temperatures are also expected to cool significantly, falling to the mid 70s by Sunday.
