One more day of high pressure will allow for a toasty afternoon throughout Montana.

Highs are expected well into the 80s in Central Montana and 90s in the Eastern Plains.

The high pressure ridge that has offered up mild weather will cave to an incoming weather system late Wednesday afternoon.

Showers are expected to kick up this evening and a cold front is on track to drop into the state overnight.

A few showers are expected to continue into Thursday and eventually taper off and the day plays out.

High temperatures on Thursday will remain on the chilly side following the passage of this front.

High pressure is on track to rebuild on Friday allowing for temperatures to regain some strength as we head into the weekend.

Our next significant weather maker is on its way and will likely begin to impact Montana on Sunday.

This system will draw a significant amount of moisture our way and keep temperatures on the cool side as we kick off a new work week.

As of now the heaviest rain is expected Sunday night into Monday, with lingering showers through Tuesday.
