Cooler temperatures and rain will settle in throughout Montana Friday afternoon.

A Canadian cold front is on track to drop into Montana today.

This system is expected to bring a period of gust winds with its initial passage.

Following this front, a few spotty thunderstorms are possible.

More widespread rain will take us through the remainder of the night, finally tapering off Saturday morning.

The lingering cloud cover should burn off around the noon hour on Saturday.

Daytime high temperatures will remain well below seasonal averages on Friday and Saturday.

High pressure is expected to rebuild over Montana on Sunday.

This will allow for sunny skies and hot weather to return next week.
