A cold front pushed through last night which means we can expect a 10-15 degree drop in today’s highs.
We track a breezy start to the day with gusts from 15 to 25 MPH possible this afternoon.
Heavy rain stays in Southern Montana, but chances of showers moving into the Capital City and the southern tip of Central Montana will increase later this afternoon and evening.
A Canadian clipper will move down tomorrow afternoon and ramp up chances of showers through most of Central Montana and the Rocky Mountain Front.
Showers are expected to be light but widespread Saturday afternoon and evening.
In the mountains, highs will only be in the upper 30s and low 40s with overnight lows reaching down to below freezing.
With moisture moving in throughout today and tomorrow, we can expect snow to form in higher elevations.
Some snow could reach down to 5,500 feet, but accumulation will only be possible in areas above 6,000 feet or so.
It is Montana… and snow is possible year-round in the mountains, but the good news for warm weather lovers is the Summer Solstice is exactly 2-weeks away!
We already start feeling warmer by Sunday with a 10 degree warm up with highs returning to the upper 60s and low 70s.
The 80s are back in the forecast for North-Central Montana by Wednesday and even sooner for Northeast Montana.
