Winter-like weather returns this week

Posted

Winds picked up overnight and we will continue to see gusty west winds through the evening.

Winds will finally start dying down overnight.

Showery activity will continue tonight with chances of rain and snow, best chance of precipitation will be in the mountains.

Additional upper-level disturbances bring in periods of snow over the mountains Monday through Wednesday with the possibility of accumulating snow showers in the lower elevations.

The best chance of seeing accumulating snow in the lower elevations will be Tuesday night- Wednesday.

Right now, it looks like we’ll see a general 1-3 inches with the possibility of localized higher amounts, depending on the strength of the snow bands that set up.

Temperatures on Monday afternoon will be much cooler, with highs only reaching 30s to low-40s.

Highs will remain below normal in the 20s and 30s for the rest of the work week and overnight will reach the teens and 20s.

Sunshine returns on Thursday with a ridge aloft starting to build, but temperatures still remain cool.
