Special Weather Statement issued July 14 at 6:31PM MDT by NWS Great Falls MT

At 630 PM MDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of
Silver Star, or 15 miles southeast of Butte, moving northeast at 35
mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include…
Whitehall and Cardwell.

This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 235 and 261.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
