HELENA -- Some patrons waited about an hour, some waited close to three hours, all looking to get into the barber chair on the first day salons were able to re-open as part of Governor Bullock's phased re-opening plan for businesses in Montana.

Joel Franjevic saw the opportunity at Great Clips as his wife did some shopping nearby.

Franjevic put his name on the waiting list and was hoping to get in after waiting an hour, but decided to call it quits and try again a different day.

"I'll try again tomorrow," said Franjevic. "I should've gone online and did it that way."

Despite wait times on the Great Clips app eclipsing the two hour mark at both Helena locations, other people, like Kristen Sargent and her children, were in it for the long haul.

When asked if she was going to get hair cut regardless of how long it took, emphatically Sargent said, "Yes, unfortunately."

Sargent said the thought of trying to get an appointment at a later date crossed her mind, but said both she and her kids wanted to get their haircuts done today.

"I was going to say, 'Just forget about it,' but the boys are wanting it done, so we're going to stick it out."

Though Sargent and her children decided to stick it out, there was a bit of concern with being in close proximity with others so close to re-opening businesses.

"I don't feel too comfortable, but my boys’ hair are wild, and I don't feel comfortable doing it myself, so we’re just going to take a chance."
