HELENA -- What started out as a friendly rivalry, turned into a rolling car show across Helena's streets.

The Helena Valley Timing Association put on their first "Cruising the Drag" event after being called out by a Kalispell car club, so dozens of cars and their owners circled up to roll in style through the streets of Helena as the sun sank through the sky.

Chad Wenger said the association decided to put on the event to hopefully show up the group from Kalispell, but more so to spread some positivity through the Helena community.

"It’s something we’d like to try and do at least once a month, if not twice. Helena needs more fun things going on and we just need more positive stuff right now," said Wenger.

Cars ranged from re-done classics, cars that just rolled off the lot and everything in between, Wenger said anyone who wants to come out and join the fun is welcome to.

"You don't have to have a show car to join us," said Wenger. "Anybody can bring their daily driver out. As long as it's got wheels we just want you to come out and have some fun."
