This year has been a hard year for many businesses, and that includes ExplorationWorks, because they are a hands-on children's museum, they have had to remain closed since March due to COVID-19.

This year their biggest fundraiser, "Nightmare Affair", is taking place online and is sponsored by Opportunity Bank.

Executive Director, Kelly Posewitz says she’s thankful all donors from past years have agreed to graciously participate in this year’s online fundraiser.

You can bid on many different items, anything from a hot air balloon ride, down to a Blackfoot Brewery bundle, horseback riding lessons, or an Alaskan cruise, Posewitz says there's an option for everyone.

She added, "of course, Nightmare Sffair is always a big fundraiser for us, pandemic or not. It has always been an important source of revenue for us, and of course this year it is more important than ever. Because we don't have the revenue from admissions, we really are relying on grants and donations right now. "

Posewitz says this year’s fundraising campaign is different than in past years. This year they are holding a month-long fundraising campaign where businesses have teams. She is happy to report the teams which include Opportunity Bank and D.A. Davidson along with a team of members from ExplorationWorks, together they have already raised $10,000.

Kelly says they are tentatively planning on reopening sometime next month at a limited capacity. She says the museum will be open to only members on weekends, with a limit of 50 people at a time.
