A Montana deputy escaped injury after his cruiser was struck from behind while at an accident scene on Interstate 90 near Bearmouth.

Granite County Sheriff Scott Dunkerson reports that shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Friday emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a multiple vehicle crash on I-90 at mile marker 145.

A Granite County patrol vehicle was struck from behind after responding to the scene, according to Sheriff Dunkerson. The deputy was not in his vehicle at the time of the crash and was not hurt.

One person from the original accident was taken to a Missoula area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff Dunkerson says that speed and icy road conditions were contributing factors in the crash. The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
