On Monday evening, police officers in Helena were dispatched to the intersection of US Highway 12 East and Crossroads Parkway for a report of a rollover crash.
Officers and paramedics found the driver and front passenger trapped in the vehicle. A third passenger that was in the back seat was out of the vehicle and responsive.
The driver and front passenger were extricated from the vehicle and taken to the emergency department at St. Peter's Health via ambulance; the nature and extent of their injuries has not been released.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver was eastbound on US Highway 12 East in the westbound lane.
According to the officers, it appears the driver tried to change onto the proper side of the road by driving over the center median. Once over the median, the vehicle darted across the intersection, collided with the signal pole, and rolled several times.
Officers are continuing to investigate.
