St. Peter’s Health announced they have three hospitalizations due to COVID-19, the most at one time since March 2020.
St. Peter’s says prevention measures are more important than ever as the virus grows in our community and testing turnaround times increase. It can take one patient up to or over seven days to receive test results of COVID-19.
St. Pete follows Pureview Health Center admitting that labs are at limited capacity for tests, causing delays in test results.
The Chief Medical Officer of the medical center states her two biggest worries right now is reaching maximum capacity and staff shortages which may lead to limited services.
“Both of those things are significant concerns, things that keep us all up at night, things that we are working hard to prevent, and both are concerns that the community, per self, can prevent," says Shelly Harkins, President and Chief Medical Officer at St. Peter’s Health.
St. Peter’s Health says no deaths due to the virus have occurred in the hospital, as of July 17th, 2020.
