Meteorologists expect between 8 and 12 inches of snow in and around Lewistown with this storm.

School officials are preparing for the snow and want parents to be ready in case of closures or delays.

Superintendent Thom Peck said, "A lot of it we work really really hard to communicate with parents on bus routes and that sort of thing. If the weather is really, really severe, sometimes there is certain areas that we won’t go to and we call parents and let them know, 'Hey, we are going to come this far, probably not this far, and that sort of thing, so communication between parents is really, really important."

Snow will continue to fall in Central and Southern Montana through the night and into Wednesday morning.

Significant snow accumulation, anywhere from 4 to 12 inches, is expected along the Rocky Mountain Front, and south of a line from Great Falls to Jordan.

This snow will likely impact the Wednesday morning commute; remember to take it slow when driving on snowy or icy roads.

Even as the snow wraps up Wednesday, we'll still be dealing with the cold.

Lows will be in the teens early Wednesday, and will stay below freezing through the day.
