People gathered on Saturday for the second weekend of the Johnson’s Nursery Pumpkin Patch.

Despite the wintry weather, friends and family came out to get pumpkins for Halloween and other fall festivities.

Terry Johnson and his wife, Lisa, have owned the pumpkin patch since 1989. Pumpkins are 75 cents a pound, and they usually sell-out of pumpkins around mid-October.

This year, Johnson says they will have their traditional "haunted greenhouse" as well as other fun activities for the whole family.

Johnson said, “Lisa and I enjoy just meeting the people, and providing a service to the community. It's just great for the kids, we just get a kick out of the kids coming out. They really enjoy being able to walk out in a real pumpkin patch and they don't have to go to a store and pick it out of a bin or something like that...we try to keep the pumpkins in the patch for a long as we can, weather permitting, and there's nothing greater than families going out and being able to pick a pumpkin right out of the patch.”

The Pumpkin Patch is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon until 6:00 p.m. Their produce market is open every day from 8:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

The address is 5935 McHugh Lane; click here to visit their Facebook page .
