The Montana Highway Patrol is “eternally thankful” to have Trooper Wade Palmer and Casey Blanchard home.
The pair, who were both severely injured in a series of shootings near Missoula in March, are back in Montana after receiving treatment in Utah for about two months.
Trooper Wade Palmer returned home to Stevensville on May 22 while Casey Blanchard came home on Saturday, June 1.
The MHP shared a photo of Palmer, Blanchard, and their families reunited with the caption: “They both came home. And we are eternally thankful.”
Blanchard was shot eight times, including in the left arm, chest, spine, abdomen, and both legs, on March 14 as he exited his vehicle to check on a motorist who he thought needed assistance.
Trooper Palmer was shot in the neck, face, and head after attempting to locate the suspect who injured Blanchard and Julie Blanchard, and killed Shelley Hays.
