Wildland fire reported near Manhattan

A large wildland fire has been reported on the Frontage Road between Manhattan and Belgrade.

A Montana Highway Patrol trooper told MTN News that a train started the fire, which is now three miles in length.

One structure is threatened, according to MHP, and the fire is jumping across the road.

The Montana Department of Transportation reported Secondary Highway 205 is closed from Manhattan to Belgrade as crews work to contain the fire.

Traffic is being detoured to Interstate 90 and drivers are advised to find alternate routes.
