Health officials in Montana are coordinating a plan of action for the Coronavirus if it were to begin to have an effect in the state.
There have been no reported cases have been identified in Big Sky Country, but one case has been identified in Washington State by someone who traveled to the China's Wuhan province.
As a precaution, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has developed a plan of action with guidance from the US Centers for Disease control and Prevention (CDC) on how the state would handle a reported outbreak.
Missoula County's health department will work with the DPHHS to finalize a plan on how the county will handle possible cases locally.
If there are any reported cases at hospitals, they would contact Missoula City-County Health Department who would test for the virus and then send that test to the state for further investigation.
We will have more as the county and state continue to finalize their plan of action.
