Traffic was backed up on Third Street in Missoula as thousands of people visited Turner Farms this weekend.

The farm's annual Pumpkin Fest brought thousands of people to the area on Saturday and Sunday. Goats and gourds were the main attractions while kids could visit the farm store, pick a pumpkin, and meet the animals.

Owner Jon Turner says elementary and middle school kids help plant the pumpkins, and then come back later to see how they grew.

"A couple of them are going to say 'hey, how does this actually work?' And they're going to understand that we have to all eat, and in order to eat we plant food. So we do it really for the kids, for them to be able to see and experience," Turner said.

The farm store offers seasonal produce, and is open seven days a week. Proceeds from the event are shared with grade school kids help plant the pumpkins.
