The 41st annual SAINTS Ball raised money for the St. Vincent Hospital's Meadowlark House at the Red Lion Convention Center in Billings Saturday.

For 15 years the Meadowlark House has given shelter to over 600 cancer patients and their families. The house offers free lodging to cancer patients while they complete their treatment.

Dr. Patrick Cobb is the medical director at St. Vincent Hospical cancer centers of Montana.

"I can't tell you how much of a burden is lifted off our patients once they find out that even though they are going to have to be here a long way from home that there is a nice place they can stay," Cobb said. "And it isn't going to cost them anything. It's a true blessing for them."

The house provides a welcome retreat for people traveling hours to get treatment.

“We get a lot of patients from eastern Montana, over 200 miles away," Cobb said.

The theme of the ball this year was house of color, a nod to the colored ribbons that represent the different types of cancer.

The St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the hospital hosted the fundraiser. The goal Saturday night was to raise $1 million.
