With some muscle and plenty of generosity, Montana Tech’s nursing department letting Butte’s hospital borrow hospital beds and other supplies in preparation for the coronavirus.

“A lot of hospitals, because we’re seeing such an influx of patients, are really running out of these supplies,” said Janet Coe, the interim director of the nursing department.

Along with beds, the university is donating gloves, sanitary items and other medical equipment to St. James HealthCare . These items will be put to better use at the hospital.

“Our students have returned home, and so we aren’t using the labs and the equipment right now, so it’s a great way to help out,” said Coe.

Montana Tech’s nursing department says they’re honored to be able to help out the local hospital during this difficult time.

“We all have to band together to get through and to take care of one another and I think this is a great example for doing that,” said Coe.
