Since the Coronavirus pandemic started, the Highgate Senior Living Facility has had to close their doors to outside guests.
But instead of staying in, one of their residents decided to go out to celebrate his 90th birthday with family and loved ones.
This past weekend, the facility hosted a classic car parade featuring over 20 classic cars to celebrate the birthday milestone.
MTN News caught up with the newly-turned 90-year-old, who says he’ll never forget that special day.
“I was sitting in there reading the paper, and what's her name come by and grab my arm. She says come on Rod, I’m going outside with you. We stopped right here, and there was a seat right there and she sat me down and said okay here they come. And they started coming around here,” explained 90-year-old Rod Roys.
Roys has a special love for classic cars because he used to race them years ago.
