Bozeman resident Cora Neumann announced her run for U.S. Senate on Tuesday morning.

Neumann is running as a Democrat joining Wilmot Collins, John Mues and Michael Chantry Knoles in the 2020 race against incumbent Republican Senator Steve Daines.

Neumann calls herself a public health leader and says she will fight to lower the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs. Neumann also says she's a supporter of public land protections.

She cites her experience spearheading the Global First Ladies Alliance and work at the State Department in preparing her to represent Montanans in Congress.

"I bring to this race twenty years of experience in federal and international policy," said Neumann. "I have a strong record of working, as I said, across party lines to get things done. I’ve always brought my Montana values with me wherever I go in my work, in DC and around the world."

Neumann says she will not take corporate political action committee money in her campaign.
