HELENA – Helena is one of two Montana airports that will temporarily host TSA Precheck enrollment centers next month.
The temporary enrollment center will be held May 20 through May 24 at the Helena Regional Airport.
It will offer residents the chance to enroll in the TSA Precheck program, which is an expedited security screening program.
The cost is $85, and it lasts for five years.
Airport Director Jeff Wadekamper said once the enrolling period ends, they will begin offering TSA Precheck convenience to travelers departing from Helena.
“At the conclusion of this event, after the enrollment session — then we’ll actually have TSA Precheck here in Helena, as well,” said Wadekamper. “So that will be a great benefit, particularly in the morning when it’s the busiest time. The morning push is usually the more hectic time here, so that will be good for passengers in the Helena area.”
The temporary enrollment center will be open Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, on the second floor of the Helena Regional Airport.
The hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Friday, the center will be open 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
Appointments are not required, but Wadekamper recommends making one.
