HELENA – Big Dipper Ice Cream issued a voluntary recall of its ice cream Friday night after employees learned a small metal piece of the ice cream making machine may have broken off during production.
While staff is not certain the piece may be in a recent batch of ice cream, they wanted to still inform customers.
The metal piece is approximately the size and shape of a dime.
Big Dipper asked anyone who purchased any flavor of quarts or growers from Big Dipper in Helena from December 21 to December 24 to please discard the ice cream.
In a Facebook post, Big Dipper said it would refund the purchase or replace it.
They are currently working with the Lewis and Clark County Public Health Department.
