Fire crews respond to large fire on the south east side of Helena

UPDATE: 3:00 P.M. We're learning more details about a large fire on Helena's southeast side late Monday night.

Helena Fire Department Chief Ken Wood said the fire burned an abandoned outbuilding in a field east of Interstate 15 and south of U.S. 12, between SK Loop and Hickman Drive.

HFD assisted East Valley Volunteer Fire Department to get the fire put out.

Wood said no one was hurt, and they're not sure yet what started the fire.


Firefighters responded to large fire on Helena's southeast side late Monday night.

The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m.

The large fire could be seen in a field east of Interstate 15 and south of U.S. 12, between SK Loop and Hickman Dr.

Witnesses tell MTN the blaze could be seen from the Helena Valley.
