Montana Employees of the Department of Public Health and Human Services donated over $4,000 to The Friendship Center in Helena on Wednesday.
Employees spent the previous month raising money through their annual holiday fundraiser, craft and bake sales, 50/50 drawings, raffles, and silent auctions.
They also collected food, blankets, and cleaning supplies for the center.
The Friendship Center in Helena offers community resources for addressing and preventing domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, through advocacy and education.
Sheila Hogan, Department of Public Health and Human Services Director, understands the struggles this organization goes through to keep afloat.
“Organizations, like this organization, are really the foundation of the community. I worked for a non-profit for over 20 years, so I know their struggles. And, I am really grateful, as our department employees, to participate and give back to this organization,” says Hogan.
