The new Five On Black restaurant opens in the West Bank Landing development in Great Falls on Wednesday, February 19th.
"It's food that you feel good about," said Tom Snyder, the owner and founder. "It is a fast-casual Brazilian restaurant, so think Chipotle, Qdoba, where you grab food quickly. It's super healthy, convenient, accessible, affordable."
The business venture took shape from a school project he did in Missoula nearly seven years ago. Snyder explained, “Five On Black was a part of a state-wide business competition that I did in college, actually at the University of Montana, and I ended up winning that competition. Two years later I started Five On Black in our first store in downtown Missoula."
The idea is to keep it family-friendly: “The nature of the menu, it works for everybody, we have people who are two years old to eighty years old and everything in between that you can find something customizable to you."
He said they also work to help the communities that support them: “Every Tuesday all year long, and everyone who comes in to support that cause we give 50% of the proceeds back to that nonprofit."
The menu includes churrasco beef and chicken, lemon-roasted tilapia, Brazilian black beans, steamed collard greens, white rice, brown rice, and several types of toppings.
The Five On Black at West Bank Landing, located at 413 3rd Street NW, is the fifth in the state. There are also two locations in Colorado. It will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
