GREAT FALLS — Chelsi Lanphear of Great Falls is expanding her effort to end human trafficking with her Solid Ground campaign.

Lanphear plans to conduct fundraisers throughout the year to raise about $750 so that she can formally create a non-profit organization.

A PayPal account has been set up to accept donations; click here if you would like to donate. The first fundraiser was over the weekend, and she made a little over $20 selling peanut butter dog treats.

In 2020, she created a Facebook group to raise awareness about human trafficking. She’s now working on addressing the issue with state legislators, so she felt it’s time to expand the Facebook group into a non-profit.

“I’ve been working on writing up something for our local legislators, a couple things I want to address. With addressing these couple of things, I feel that if we are able to change them, Solid Ground is going to take a different approach to helping the community,” said Lanphear. “We want to eventually rent out a building. We want to approve volunteers, such as people who can help build resumes, therapists that want to do some pro bono work, stuff like that.”

She’s also looking for volunteers to help set up events to raise awareness about human trafficking. If you’re interested, click here to visit the Facebook group.
