Suspect at large after stabbing a man in Bozeman

Police in Bozeman are continuing to search for a man who reportedly stabbed another man near Gallatin Valley Mall on Wednesday.

According to Bozeman Deputy Police Chief Jim Veltkamp, the victim is currently in stable condition after suffering "numerous" stab wounds.

Police say they are still questioning witnesses to the stabbing that happened Wednesday evening.

The stabbing was reported to police at about 6 p.m. by a caller who reported a fight near the mall.

Police believe the suspect stabbed the man near the Petco parking lot and ran into the mall. Police searched for him for almost two hours.

As of Thursday mid-day , no arrests have been made and officers are still looking for the suspect.

Police believe the two men know each other, and do not believe there is a public threat.
