Moddison charged with several felonies and misdemeanors

Russell Robert Moddison was arrested in Great Falls on Friday and has been charged with several felonies and misdemeanors.

Court documents allege that Moddison was driving a motorcycle which police determined had license plates that were registered to a flatbed trailer. When police began following the motorcycle, Moddison sped away from them.

Moddison managed to elude the officers, but within minutes Dispatch received a report that a man had ditched a motorcycle near 6th Avenue South and 17th Street.

Officers found Moddison near the 1600 block of 6th Avenue South in between buildings in the Parkdale area; court documents allege that Moddison resisted and struggled with officers before they were able to arrest him.

When he was searched at the Cascade County Detention Center, he was reportedly found to be in possession of 189 grams of meth, seven grams of marijuana, and 5.41 grams of hash oil.

Moddison has been charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, and the following misdemeanors: criminal possession of dangerous drugs; criminal possession of drug paraphernalia; obstructing a peace officer; resisting arrest; reckless driving; driving without valid license; and operating motor vehicle with improper registration. Prosecutors requested that bond for Moddison be set at $100,000.

According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Moddison has convictions for sexual intercourse without consent in Cascade County, and forgery and criminal distribution of dangerous drugs in Yellowstone County.
