The CSKT Tribal Council has extended a shutdown on the Flathead Reservation as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop in Montana.
No end date was given for the closure order and the Tribal Council will review the shut down every two weeks.
The order was originally passed to slow the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and all department heads were directed to establish an essential services schedule.
A number of tribal programs will be scaled back, however, essential services will remain including elder care, payroll, accounting and care of vulnerable populations, according to a news release.
Courts are rescheduling cases and emergency hearings will take place as needed. It is also noted that all Mission Valley Power employees are considered essential.
Tribal health pharmacies are offering a curbside pickup service until May 1, 2020 with the possibility of extension. New prescriptions and refills can be dropped off and delivered to patient cars by a Tribal Health staff member.
