The Bozeman Help Center is short on volunteers for their crisis line

The shortage isn’t uncommon for this time of year because many volunteers are graduating college students.

The Help Center assists people in times of crisis and aids in suicide prevention. The state of Montana is often ranked in the top 5 for suicide rates which is why resources like the Help Center isn’t only important for Bozeman, but also for surrounding communities.

“We serve not only Bozeman but the surrounding 12 counties where resources might be a little more sparse than they are in Bozeman," Development and communication director, Mandy St. Aubyn said. "Having a resource like the Help Center is very important so people know that they can pick up the phone and call us.”

Volunteers will have required training after signing up and should be interested in helping others in need.
