We continue to watch the North Hills fire closely.
As of the time of this article, the fire had spread to about 2,600 acres, large enough that the smoke plume is now visible from space.
Conditions in Helena are favorable for fire development, and they look to be even worse Monday.
A Fire Weather Warning will once again be in place, as hot, mostly dry, and occasionally gusty weather returns to the forecast.
Highs Monday will range from the mid 80s to around 90 degrees.
Widespread strong winds are not expected.
However, a few afternoon thunderstorms are possible in Southwest Montana.
These storms could create strong, erratic gusts, which will make fires harder to fight.
North Central Montana will likely stay away from these storms, and sunny, dry weather is expected.
