A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Southern and Central Montana until 10 PM Wednesday.

A watch means severe thunderstorms are possible.

Storms have the potential to bring high winds over 60 miles per hour and hail of quarter size or slightly larger.

Storms have already begun to fire up, and more development is expected.

Storms will strengthen through the afternoon and evening.

In general storms will develop in southern and southwestern Montana, and move to the northeast.

Make sure to keep an eye on the sky and stay up to date on the latest weather conditions and warnings.

The severe weather threat will not be over when the Watch expires.

More severe storms are expected Thursday.
