HELENA – Carroll College students were welcomed back for the 2018 school year with “Breakfast with the President” Wednesday morning.

At 7:30 a.m., the new president John Cech and his colleagues welcomed students back to campus for their first class.

The president gave out free muffins, coffee, and a little conversation.

Cech said he was able to meet new students coming from as far away as Germany and China.

He added there are many new additions to Carroll’s academic school year like the Access Program.

The Access Program was created to give junior and senior high school students the opportunity to take free college classes.

There are currently 90 high schoolers enrolled in the Access Program.

This year, Carroll College accepted 300 new students and 800 returning students.

“We’re a family and we want to develop that relationship that family relationship with our students. On a beautiful morning like this it’s just a wonderful opportunity to just welcome our students to our campus to our community and just engage in conversation with them,” Cech said.

Other additions include a remodel to the library and discussion to let students have a voice in future changes to Carroll.

Carroll College will also have activities like a dance, water slide, and a special dinner to encourage students to network.
