Derek Jon Fox faces charges after allegedly driving a boat while under the influence and crashing into one of the York Bridge’s pillars on Saturday evening.

According to court documents, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of the York Bridge on the Missouri River for a report of a boat accident.

A deputy learned that individuals in the boat were thrown into the water on impact and several were injured, including an 11-year-old boy. The injured individuals were taken to the York Bridge Boat Ramp.

After speaking with witnesses, the deputy learned a wrecked boat and two additional occupants were towed to Devil’s Elbow Boat Ramp.

Court documents state that Fox was identified as the driver of the boat at the time of the crash.
