A fire caused major damage to a house in Helena on Sunday, leaving a family without a home.
The Helena Fire Department was dispatched at 11:40 p.m. to house on the 500 block of East Broadway.
The family of five was able to escape with no serious injuries, but some pets died in the fire.
Emergency crews had the fire under control in less than an hour.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
The damage is estimated at $200,000.

A Helena family that lost their home last night, has suffered complete loss of all their belongings and home. They also lost two cats in the fire. They are a family of 5 – Grandma, Married couple – man & woman, sister and her 3 year old daughter. They also have 2 dogs, and 1 missing cat.
Presents for all is strongly desired, of course. But starting with clothes and shoes. If you do bring used items, please make sure they are clean without any holes or stains. Presents may be wrapped or unwrapped. I will edit as we go. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY FURNITURE OR HOUSEHOLD GOODS, YET. WE WILL UPDATE WHEN WE ARE ABLE AND READY TO TAKE THESE KINDS OF DONATIONS. THE DROP OFF LOCATIONS ARE NOT SET UP FOR ANYTHING THAT LARGE. NOR DOES THE FAMILY HAVE STORAGE SPACE YET.
