Posted

Emergency crews are still at the scene of a fire on the west side of Helena.

According to the Lewis & Clark County/City of Helena 911 Dispatch Center, the fire broke out at about 5:30 a.m. at a storage facility at 905 Park Lane.

The location is near Highway 12 and Williams Street.

There have been no reported injuries at this point.

The Helena Fire Department says that due to the "unknown contents" of the storage units, people in the area are advised to "be cognitive of the smoke and any potential respiratory issues." They say that if anyone develops complications due to the smoke, they should call 911 or seek medical attention.

People who live in the area are advised to keep their windows closed.

Several people told MTN News that they received an automated phone call stating that people who live in the area should close their windows, and to seek medical help if they experience respiratory problems.

No evacuations have been ordered or are planned.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

We will update you as we get more information.
