A woman was taken to St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena on Wednesday night after her car collided with a train.

The Helena Police Department says that it happened at about 10 p.m.

The woman, said to be 56 years old, was driving south on Montana Avenue at the time.

Her car went onto the railroad crossing against the closed arms and flashing lights, and hit the westbound train.

The HPD believe that she may have experienced a "medical emergency," which caused the collision.

The HPD says that the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that are not believed to have been life-threatening.

No other information has been released.
