Helena High School student accepted to West Point

HELENA — Congratulations are in order for a Helena High standout student and athlete.

Josey Smiedala has been accepted to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

The 18-year-old senior was team captain for the Helena High Cross Country team and a state champion in track and field. 

She’s a member of the national Honor Society, volunteers for the Florence Crittenton Home, and mentors incoming freshman at Helena High.

She was nominated by U.S. Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines.
