Lewis and Clark County gearing up for November 5th election

The Lewis and Clark County is gearing up for the November 5th municipal general and county special election.

The election will be by mail this year, with ballots mailed to all active electors on October 16.

Voted ballots are due back in the elections office by 8 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5.

The deadline to register to vote for this election is October 7th at 5 pm. After that, the elections department can accept late registrations at their office during business hours between October 8 and November 1st.

Voters living in the city of Helena will elect two city commissioners, a municipal court judge and neighborhood district council members.

In the City of East Helena, voters residing in Ward 1 south of Riggs Street will be electing a council member. Voters residing in Ward 2 north of Riggs Street will also elect a council member.

Lewis and Clark County voters, including those in city limits, will also be voting on the question of whether to allow nonpartisan elections for county officers.
