With the COVID-19 shutdown many small businesses are helping out in any way that they can. At The Daily Grind Coffee Shop, they’re putting a smile on peoples faces one coffee at a time.

“I just came up with an idea to try to help everybody in the community and do our part to keep us busy because we can’t do a lot right now," said owner Dulcie Clark.

Over the past week, Clark and her group of volunteers started a coffee drive, they have been preparing and delivering coffee to hospitals, first responders and anyone else who might need it due to the Corona Virus shutdown.

“Definitely needed to do something to help the community and keep our minds busy and make people happy.”

Despite only starting up the idea a week ago, the coffee drive has received an out-pour of support from the people of Ennis.

“We raised a lot of money," Clark said. "So we have a lot of community support and volunteers who are giving donations to this cause and we have enough funds to do about three weeks of coffee for our community. So it’s pretty cool.”

For Clark, it gives her something to look forward to everyday.

“It’s the best, it keeps me going every single day," said Clark. "It makes me happy to know that I get to get up every morning and get to go help people. Show appreciation to the people around here because we are all in it together, no matter who you are, we are all in it together.”
